Alone Time

My husband is great. There are many reasons for this, but the reason today is that he gave me an afternoon alone today, which was my official first reward for hitting weight goal numero uno. He stayed home with Tate and fed her lunch, changed her diapers, and generally served as both entertainment and nap enforcer, and I got to drive around and do whatever the heck I wanted. Among my Austin rambling was…

• A trip to Half-Price Books, where I bought yet another mindless novel.
• Lunch at Whole Foods Market (I picked a place that I determined would be difficult to enjoy if Chickpea were with me).
• Coffee at Sweetish Hill Bakery, where I read and studied.
• A walk around my alma mater in the drizzle, where I simultaneously felt old and nostalgic.
• Lounging on a couch in the Student Union, reading the aforementioned book.

Ahhhh… I feel refreshed. I knew I did when I started missing Chick the last hour of my aloneness. Thanks, Kabob, for this special treat. You’re the best.

I read Summer Sisters years ago when it first came out. I remember it being a good, mindless novel.

We are supposedly getting a Whole Foods soon…we’ll see. I have never even been to one. :(

I also got a few hours today while Aaron took the kids to play, but I spent it working. Your alone time sounds better!
