I Heart Photography…

by toblerone on April 29, 2008

…but I have a looong way to go. It’s fun to get visually inspired while nursing a four-month-old (that, and you can’t type anything substantial, so might as well read blogs you’ve bookmarked ages ago). These sites all have amazing photography - enjoy the eye candy.

And snaps to friends in real life who photograph:

Sorry to space out there, Shaun! I like you a lot, really.

Flickr thinks we’re Pros

Our Flickr account is now “Pro,” which means we can see all our photos since our account’s inception. Hooray! This doesn’t mean, however, that I’ve added new ones… yet. We have over 2,700 new photos from April alone, thanks to Kabob’s parents visit. Leave it to Papa Flash, and his sidekick, Kabob Flash, to snap photos of every little thing that moves. So hopefully I’ll start weeding through them and updating our account. Thanks for your visual patience!

Info about our photo posting policy can be found on the FAQ page.

I’m still alive

by toblerone on March 28, 2008

Sorry I’ve been so MIA lately… I’m actually still reading everyone else’s blogs and keeping up with emails and such. Life is busy, I guess. I’m working on about 4.5 projects for friends that keep me in Photoshop for much of my computer time, and the rest of my time… well, there are those two kids of mine and all. They want food every now and then.

Nursing is a good time for reading blogs, but not so helpful for writing them (read: only one hand is free). So I’ve been doing a lot of internet reading, and one recent fascination is the business side of blogging. I’m absorbing a lot of mind-boggling information from blogs I only recently discovered. Did you know there are bloggers who make six-figure incomes from their blogs? There are even SAHMs who make four figures a month just blogging a few hours a week on the side.

I’m not becoming that ambitious, mind you, but the idea of earning extra income through my hobby is very intriguing. And so I’m educating myself on the subject, in case God ever opens that door. I think I’ve just got an entrepreneurial bend in my bones.

So in case you want to get sucked in to more reading you could ever fathom, here are just some of the places I’m ingesting with a fork and knife:

Those are just the tip of the iceberg - I won’t overwhelm you with the others on the list. But to top it off, here’s a compilation of the 50 Most Influential Bloggers. Wild. I love that Heather is on the list.

Now that you’re thoroughly intimidated, go start a blog! Don’t be one of the four people left on the planet without one.

back in business…

by toblerone on March 24, 2008

Finally! Let’s just say that this weekend, I was sent to serve time in Blog Purgatory, because I was floating in between worlds and tortured. But I think everything’s squared away now. And now I want to not look at CSS, FTPs, or PHP for a loooooong time.

But yay! My three years of posts aren’t lost. That’s happy.
