Close enough

The other day, Chickpea and I went to the grocery store, which is actually based in a largeish shopping mall.  We arrived close to lunchtime, so to avoid the mid-grocery hungries by a little girl who has taken up the pleasant hobby of whining, I decided we’d better hit the food court first.  I surveyed all the choices, and after taking a look at the menus, I decided that – I can’t even believe I’m saying this – the best choice was McDonald’s.

We are not McDonald’s fans.  Chickpea has only been there once, and she spit out her chicken mcnuggets.  But the reason it seemed the best was because theirs was the only kids menu that offered yogurt instead of fries and water instead of a soda.  So, armed with my barbaric language skills, I ordered her a kids’ meal with a hamburger, yogurt, and water, with extra ketchup on the side (the kid should buy stock in ketchup).

I apparently did a horrible job.  We got a hamburger, fries, a coke, and extra packets of mayonnaise.

They were crazy busy, so I didn’t want to bother them with my completely botched-up order.  I just asked for some ketchup and moved on.

On a completely different note – I wanted to let you all know that I’ve loved getting your phone calls and e-mails.  Thank you so much.  The next few days look to be swampingly busy, so I probably won’t be able to start replying until this weekend or possibly early next week.  So don’t think I haven’t noticed or don’t care – I really do.  Truly.  It makes my day.

So…  Off to do those swampingly busy things!
