Goodbyes…

Well, we’re leaving Oregon tomorrow and heading back to Texas. I’m sad to say bye to family, and I’m sad to return to laundry, dishes, and a 900-square-foot home, but I’m looking forward to normalcy. This was definitely the best time I’ve personally had in Oregon, and I can’t quite put my finger on it, so the only thing I can attribute to it is God’s goodness. I wasn’t even trying to make it anything more than a good time seeing family, so I feel blessed to have had some wonderful quality time with siblings-in-law, parents-in-law, and old friends of Kabob’s (and their wives). And of course, it was great for everyone to meet Chickpea. It now feels complete that she’s in our life, like she’s been inaugurated to both sides of the fam.

I wish I had time to say more, but I’ve got to finish packing. We’ve got a loooong day tomorrow, so please pray for us when you think of it. Chick was just so-so on the plane up here, so my expectations are zero for the way back. I figured that will keep me happy if she does do better than before, but I won’t be shocked if she has a meltdown. But she’s been a total angel almost the entire week, and I hope she’ll be inspired to be the same tomorrow.

And with a grand finale, here are more photos I’ve long ago promised. There are a TON.
