I love hearing stuff like this

I am a coffee fanatic, as in, I always drink one cup a day, usually two. I buy coffee from Jim, and unfortunately, my taste – and ultimately my coffee snobbery – keeps climbing, such that I can’t drink coffee at church without near puking.

Kabob and I keep hearing all these health benefits of coffee, and I say keep ‘em coming. In the past month, I think we’ve read or heard in the news that coffee reduces diabetes, heart disease, the risk of Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, even suicide (though I say it depends on what kind of coffee you’re given – I mean, have you had the coffee at church?). It helps you lose weight. It helps you work harder during the day and sleep better at night. It sings and dances for you. Okay, so maybe not that, but it does provide an awful lot of sanity to my day, and if it keeps me far far away from Alzheimer’s, then well, I’ll take that, too.

it warms my heart to read all this… I would like to thank Motorla for forcing me to seek out cheap ways of buying great coffee when they discontinued providing coffee at work. That is probably the greatest single impact Motorola had on me when I was there… Thanks for all the good press Tsh.

Curious if decaf/regular makes a difference. I know that caffeine is supposed to help you lose weight.

Great news about coffee…maybe I’ll try it one of these days. However, some bad news is that I heard recently that anti-persperant (not deoderant) is linked as a cause of Alzheimer’s. Being a seaty Jr. High boy and going through nerve-racking music performances in college, I have become a heavy user, but that may have to change.

Good news for the Oxenreiders, though. Apparently the country they are moving to is BOTH a coffee culture AND the use of anti-persperant is not a social norm (tangent=> I JUST had dinner with a friend of mine from that country and also a friend from Indonesia–interesting comparison of shower behavior-once a month -vs- 4 times daily)…Here’s to many sweaty, Alheimer’s free years of ministry for the Oxenreiders ;)
