it’s a good day so far

The high dropped 14 degrees – yesterday it was 86, today it’s 72.

The exchange rate is a teeny bit better – the value of this country’s currency went down .03 points. Hey, we take what we can get – it really adds up when we’re talking rent. Who knows what it will be tomorrow.

Kabob has been off of school for the past two days. It’s the biggest holiday of the year (think Christmas in the U.S.), so we’ve enjoyed a nice, long weekend. And there’s still more to go!

The holiday signifies the end of Ramadan, which means people with normal blood sugar levels. That will mean less car accidents, less grumpy bus drivers, and generally happier people. Apparently you don’t want to get near the highways during rush hour – everyone’s aching to go home to start eating at sunset, and they haven’t eaten or drunk a thing since 4 a.m. or so. Even water. I’ve been told it’s not pretty.

And now… it’s raining! Well, it’s drizzling. But that’s the first time in months this part of the world has seen rain. Yahoo!

How’s your Saturday going?

edited to add:  About 30 minutes after the above was written, our neighbors called, asking if we wanted to go shopping.  We said yes because we’re wanting to get to know them better.  However, think Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving.  Add to that my affinity for crowds, and shopping, for that matter.  Yep, it’s the busiest shopping day of the year in this country.  We’ll let you know how it goes.
