I went out with some girlfriends for the first time in I don’t know how long. We went to see this movie, and it was so much fun. Now, there is indeed no plot, basically. But if you love - or even just like - ABBA, you’d have fun at this movie. I did.
And it was a sad reminder how long it’s been since I both went to the movies and had a girls’ night out. I definitely need to do both more often.

Are you serious? I thought that for the first 1/4 of the movie i was going to die! Some how it managed to make me feel rather annoyed. Perhaps it was the fact that “Sam” Couldn’t sing for the life of him! Anyways, it was a beautiful story and a wonderful musical but the vocolists just made it a bit horrid for me. I’m have an ear for music/pitch, etc and boy I could have gotten out of my seat a couple times but made the effort to compose myself. However, I have to admit that it was a touching movie with a happy ending. OH AND I LOVED THE WHOLE SONG REQUEST AT THE END lol That was just Hallarious. Also, when the men came out in there hot, smokin’, rock and rollin’ suites!
Hahaha, that made it worth it lol.
I don’t think the point was for it to be a perfectly executed musical. In fact, that was one of the parts I enjoyed about it - watching Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, and Collin Firth singing and skipping around. Funny stuff.
I took Jamie on Sunday to see it & LOVED it!!!! I really enjoyed the sweet story and of course the music. I didn’t expect to cry but I did. Must be a mom thing.
I too, enjoyed watching Meryl Streep and the rest of the over 50’s having a fun time with the singing and dancing. I would go see it again and I never do that. But what that movie really did for me was make me want to go to Greece and see all of that beautiful coastline in person. Gosh that was amazing.
