- hanging out with good friends from America
- going to the neighborhood waterpark and listening to their family-friendly, LOUD, swear word-laden rap
- picnics along the ocean
- picnics along the highway
- building forts in the living room
- going to the farmer’s market, once just the mommies, and again with the older girls
- playing Apples to Apples
- playing Hoopla
- playing Trivial Pursuit
- random art projects
- watching Ice Age waaay too many times
- laughing
- playing at five playgrounds (at least - what I could count, anyway)
- looking at ladybugs
- collecting rocks along the beach
- playing in the kiddie pool on our balcony
- watching the Euro 2008 (congrats to Wes & Megan!). We didn’t do too badly, either.
- doing laundry, washing dishes, and sweeping floors together
- browsing shops in the old city market
- walking to the bus stop in 108 degree weather with four children under 3
- just vegging
Thanks, friends, for coming to see us. We are so thankful for the fun and the memories, and we appreciate the “forced” relaxation! Now we’re even more ready to go back to the States this holiday season. See you soon!

I couldn’t take my eyes off the “action” in the 1-0 final.
sorry…… I tried.
You need to have a contest putting a caption to the above photo.
My entry #1: Chickpea says, “I remember when I had jet-lag when I first got here, too.”
My entry #2: Laughing girl says, “Was that great or what!? Our moms were scrambling to get us and our stuff on the bus and then they got left at the curb!”
Ooh, I like it. Especially the second one.
Oh I have one:
Yeah….I used to get crazy and lose control when I first experienced the bus ride by myself in 108 degrees but now I’m used to it. Just sit back and enjoy the ride!! They will be waiting for us when we get back!
We had SUCH an awesome time with you guys. I can’t believe how fast the time flew. We miss you already and are so glad it will only be a few months ’til we get to see you again!
Love you.
Us too! I’m going to call you later to see how the flight went.
