Out of towners of the best kind

We have guests in town.  Not just any guests, but some of our closest friends from our home overseas.  They lived there for two years, and now are hanging out in Pennsylvania while they decide what’s next.

We couldn’t ask for better surrogate aunts and uncles for our kids, and needless to say, Chickpea was on cloud nine to see them.

It’s definitely weird to see them here in the States, all together in our home culture.  But it’s fun.  We’re looking forward to doing some touristy things on our home turf.  Good times are in store.  Photos will be posted soon.

In the meantime, our kids are sick – Chick has enjoyed a double ear infection, and Garbanzo has croup.  This has meant not seeing other kids, which is a real bummer as our time in Austin comes to a close soon.  But such is life.  To us, it was God’s clear voice that said SLOW DOWN.  They’ve been up late for weeks, going from one home to the next.  I’m pretty sure it weakened their immune systems so that their illnesses set up camp.

Just found your blog through GoogleReader’s recommendations. Great reading! I empathize with the expat headed home” feeling. We have been in the UK a little over 3 years, and when we came home last year it was overstimulation city…

Loved the ManCold video…although, I confess, I had MomFlu last night…

Gosh, I miss you guys…It was so much fun to hang out with you guys. I’ll never forget Jeshua’s prayer when we left…”Lord, its ok if we won’t see each other again, because we have all our time in heaven to be together”…such wisdom from a child,… but rips my heart out. So glad you are blogging to keep up with you and the kids.
