We are so excited we can hardly stand it.

Kabob’s parents arrive in just over 32 hours! It’s always monumental when visitors arrive, but it’s especially great when parents/in-laws/grandparents come. Especially when they come for almost an entire month. We’re so psyched.

It’s been over a year since Chickpea has seen MeMee and Papa face-to-face, and Garbanzo’s never met them. We’ve kept up well on Skype, of course, but nothing beats reuniting in person.

We’re excited to give them a glimpse of our life here – the way we get around town, how we buy groceries, the protocol for eating in restaurants. After you’ve been here awhile, it’s easy to forget what’s interesting – things start becoming normal. Or maybe the definition of “normal” starts changing.

So my week has involved mostly some spring cleaning, organizing, and desperately trying to get some sleep. We had a horrific night last night, and as I’m typing, I’m the only one awake (which is crazy, when I think about it). Life will be beautiful if I can climb into bed by 10 at the latest tonight.

Garbanzo had his THREE MONTH appointment yesterday, if you can believe it. I can’t! How did the child become three months old? Didn’t I just give birth? Weirdness. Anyway, his stats are great – translated loosely into imperical measurements, he’s a bit over 12 pounds and 24 inches. So far, he’s still tall and lean, like his daddy.

Alright, I’m off to get a tiny bit of shut-eye before someone wakes up around here. It’s bound to happen any second.
