Earlier today, during Chickpea’s bath, two octopi bath toys had this spiritual conversation:

• Octopus 1: Did you know that Jesus loves all the little children in the world?
• Octopus 2: No, I didn’t know that. That’s great!
• Octopus 1:Â Yes, it is.

Then later, while I was in the bathroom, she told me this:

• Chickpea: Now Mommy, when you need to go potty, remember to run to the bathroom, and then say, “Chick, I need to pee!”, and I’ll come running, and then you’ll get a gummy bear. Okay?

And then just a few minutes ago, during story time, we were reading Madeline in America. We had this discussion:

• Me: Chick, we are from America, remember? That’s where lots of our friends and our family live, like Nana and Hot Rod, and MeMee and Papa.
• Chick: (pointing to the ceiling) And what about Jesus? Is he from America?
• Me: Well, lots of people think so, but actually he was from Israel.
• Chick: That’s right.

I wonder if tonight she and her Care Bears will have a riveting discussion about predestination.
