so i haven’t had a ton of time to write…

money-clothesline.jpg…but I have had a bit more time to explore.  The internet, that is.  Because let’s be frank - when you’re nursing, you really only have one hand free, and it’s much easier to browse and click one-handed than it is to type a post.  So several times a day, I’ve been using Garbanzo’s feeding times to explore the blogosphere and what-not.  And even though this might not constitute me officially writing a blog post, I thought I’d share some of the good places I’ve happened upon over the past few weeks.

By the way, is it just me, or is every last person and their dog pregnant right now?  Am I a trendsetter, or what?

Okay, onward…

My current reading topic faves are personal finance/budgeting and home decor/frugality.  Not sure why.  No matter, here are my latest regulars on the topic of money management - I’ll get to the home decor topic another day.

  • Get Rich Slowly - in the world of personal finance, it’s near impossible to find someone you agree with 100%.  This guy comes close for me - I’d say I agree with about 80% of his thoughts.  A great resource.
  • No Credit Needed - another good site.  I appreciate all the links he finds.
  • The Simple Dollar - I don’t totally jive with his perspectives, but for the most part, he’s got good information and resources.
  • An English Major’s Money - a fun blog written by a recent college graduate working in NYC.
  • My Open Wallet - an anonymous New Yorker writes about her earning, spending, and saving.  Again, I wouldn’t do things just like her, but that’s what makes personal finance personal.  Interesting perspective.
  • Dave Ramsey and My Total Money Makeover - I’ve said it before, and I’m sure I’ll say it again.  Love Dave Ramsey and his approach to debt-free personal finance.  With a few exceptions, we’re pretty much following his plan.

All these sites have more than enough links to other interesting sites, and I can’t begin to link to all the little blog posts here and there with good insight.  For one reason, there’s so many, but mostly, it’s because right now I’ve got a crying newborn and a preschooler who has found the joys of stapling and pencil sharpening.

Gotta go…

I’ve been watching “Alias” dvds while I breastfeed - every once in a while I feel a twinge of guilt that I’m not doing something that will stretch the mind a little more. But I never watched it while it was on tv, and now I’m in the middle of season 2 and so hooked!
