There’s a 70% chance Chickpea will be the princess

Well, 68 percent of us were wrong (myself and Kabob included). It’s a BOY!

The doc says she’s 70 percent sure. The little guy was wiggling a lot, and then he settled in to this position with his feet curled up (he was sitting “criss cross applesauce” style), and wouldn’t move. All this to say… We didn’t get a great view. So that’s why she’s saying 70 percent.

We’re going in two weeks from now for a follow-up, so maybe we’ll get a better view then. I won’t get into details, but after having taken progesterone orally twice a day from 10 weeks on, I still needed a very painful progesterone shot at the appointment. The doc says I’ll need another one in a few weeks — hence the appointment so soon.

Everything’s fine, mostly, but I’m supposed to be on modified bed rest for the next four days, just to make sure everything’s okay. Bed rest sounds nice, but it’s not. Not when you have two other kids vying for your attention.

Kabob’s got a major video deadline on Monday, I’ve got a website deadline on Wednesday, and then my book is due Friday… A big week for us. So maybe bedrest is God’s way of telling me to slow down, stay horizontal, and just work.

The house is a wreck. But oh well.

Oh, and I should say that Chickpea is elated. She’ll randomly grin from ear to ear and say, “I’m so excited about my new brother!” On the way home from my appointment, I was concerned that she’d be disappointed, since she was hoping for a sister. But I prayed for her in the car, and He answered. She’s thrilled! And since Garbanzo will now have a little digging-in-the-mud playmate, that means Chickpea will have sole control of the china tea set and her centerpiece creations.

How exciting! I think a boy needs a brother, as girls tend to play so well by themselves. Either way, we’re just happy the baby is healthy!

Thinking of you this next week and the last push for your book.

Woo Hoo! I was in the minority. ;o) I actually started to post what my vote was, but didn’t.
SO excited for y’all! What a fun blessing…praying for you this week.
Ashley Zeller just found out their third is going to be a boy too. Guess it’s another “boy wave.”

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Criss cross legs with a full view…hmmm…90% sure its a boy :) They like to show off :) So lovely to see all the details, I missed that with our little one. Progesterone…I did suppositories…Vicious. It was a lot of money for us every month, over $300 a month, but its so worth it! TAKE IT SLOW. I was constantly behind on all of my deadlines when pregnant, for the reason of having to slow down. Control freak in me really did not like it. But now I don’t even remember the frustration and it does not really matter anymore.

Yippie! I voted in the minority and I am soooooo excited! Boys are just wonderful to have! I was on FULL bedrest with my 4th pregnancy (which I elected to take on the couch since I had tree other children to tend to) for 2 months and then modified bed rest for 1 more : ( Hang in there! The end result is worth ALL the messy house and all that !

I was having a 70% girl…the end result…a boy!

@Keelie — This is always my concern, with each pregnancy. :) Though I have heard it said that if you’re told girl, it’s 80% correct, but if you’re told boy, it’s 90% correct. As in, if you see something, then you see something. If you don’t, then there could still be something there, just hiding… You get my drift.

i was sure ours is a girl…even had this prophetic name bound to the whole experience :) was very funny when doc said: boy. I was like: can’t be!! I am not fit to be a mommy of a boy! Besides, his name ends with “a” already :) Luckily we had a name chosen for a boy and a girl long time ago and the switch was not that painful. And then of course my fear was, that I do get a girl on the day of delivery.

Congrats! We’re expecting at the end of June, but it’s still a secret! Sort of, I guess?!?

We were definitely in the camp of them telling us they were *sure* baby was a girl at 20 weeks. At almost 10 months, he’s about as boy as it gets, though;)
