A conversation from a few minutes ago..

CHICK: Mom, I want a pink bicycle and a pink poodle. That’s like a dog.

ME: Yeah, I’ve heard of them. But why pink?

CHICK: ‘Cause I’m a girl. Remember when we fed the elephants?

ME: Yes, I do. What did we feed him?

CHICK: Cucumbers. Was that at the zoo?

ME: Actually, that was in Thailand.

CHICK: Thailand? What’s Thailand?

ME: That’s a country. Like America’s a country, [insert current country of service] is a country… Thailand’s a country, too. That’s where we were last summer.

CHICK: Thailand’s another country?!? Mom, you’re crazy. Clifford’s not a poodle, Mom. He’s a big red dog. I want a brownie.
