We’re back!

And it turned out the weather was beautiful. A smidge too hot, actually. We’re all a bit pink. Never made it in the ocean, but we played on the sand a little bit. We walked around cobblestone streets, took in the gorgeous colors, and overall had a great, relaxing time. Why is it you never realize how unrelaxed you are until you leave town in order to relax?
And you know you no longer live in the U.S. when:
• Your daughter’s prize inside her chocolate egg is a toy Smart Car.
• (and in the same vein…) Your daughter says, “Wow, look at that big car!” to a Nissan Micra.
• Your guests naively think they won’t have to dodge motorcycles and Vespas on the walking street. You think nothing of it.
• While waiting to get your passport stamped, a woman from Uruguay asks your daughter, “What is your name?” Your daughter responds, and the lady says, “Como?”, to which your daughter, exasperated, says, “No, not Como. CHICKPEA.”
