whew!
Quite the past few days we’ve had… Last night I was given a shower here in town from some fellow expat ladies, and it was such a blessing. It really was just a simple, sweet baby shower, but I relished all the girl time I had, because being around them in one setting made me realize that it has been forEVer since I had that. Really, time with a gaggle of females was probably the best shower gift I was given. That, and a gift bag of barbeque sauce, fajita seasoning, vanilla extract, and Bath & Body Works lotion. That gal knew how to give THE perfect I-live-overseas-and-I’m-from-Texas baby shower gift.
Then today, I had my 38-week check-up. Everything is looking a-okay, and next Monday, we’ll put a c-section date on the calendar. Of course, we were told we’d have a date on this appointment, but that’s par for the course in this culture. Maybe we’ll be told we’re having a c-section as I’m being wheeled into the operating room.
If you received an email update from us today, that means you’re on our email list, and we’ll keep you updated on some of the happenings in our life about twice a month. So if you’re not getting those, and you want to, well, just let me know, and we’ll see what we can do.
Have a good rest-o-the-Monday! I’m off to bed.
And oh yes – here’s a photo from the appointment today. A few people had trouble deciphering the thing, so I’ve added some helpful hints. While we have to deal with a lot of no fun having-a-baby-overseas stuff, one thing I do appreciate is the standard 4-D ultrasound at every appointment. That, and I call my OB at 3 a.m. on her cell phone.

I can’t believe how clear your baby’s face is! I didn’t need the clues at all!
Congratulations!
Hey Girl,
LOVE reading your updates. Chick is a hoot and her little sayings brings back so many precious memories for me. Did you pick a name for the baby? I don’t remember seeing it but on the newsletter saw a “K” on his stocking. Just curious. Glad you had such a fun shower. Gosh, I love how you remind me that it is the simple things that are important like your favorite b-b-que sauce. Great big hugs and kisses from the Flannery’s!
I can’t believe your due date is here!!! What a cutie!
I’ve finally gotten your feed all straightened out. YAY!
Could you email the details of how you are doing your .pdfs (I know how to create one, but I’ve been considering doing my mommy cards this way for many months now, or at least offering a pdf as an option… I’m so tired of dealing with the print shop…
Hugs and blessings,
Karla
